Acura’s 3 SEMA Builds Encourage Buyers to Mod the Integra

Acura is bound to change some stubborn opinions with this one

While the Integra has had its fair share of criticism from the car community, Acura has decided to try and turn the public tide towards the Integra of new. While the previous famed Integra from the 90’s had massive success as a tuner’s utopia, the automotive scene has been reluctant to see the new one with the same outlook rather than a luxury Civic (which the original one was too by the way).

First from Sarah Choi is the Snow White iced out ‘Teggy. She and Walter Kim collaborated on a one-of-a-kind custom wide body kit that fits the profile of a true tuner car. This design is the one that’s most exterior focused with a performance intercooler and oil cooler paired on the back end with an aftermarket cat-back exhaust.

On the exterior lays the aforementioned widebody kit along with Advan RSDF wheels wrapped in Nexen Sport Rs. Lowered on Tein Suspension coilovers, Sarah’s take looks low and classy. A minimalist design save for the massive wing on the back that only adds to the tuner look.

The Barebones Integra is Just as Good

Next is the most performance-oriented Integra on the list, with professional drifter Dai Yoshihara teaming up with Evasive Motorsports to create a “get the rear end loose” interpretation of the Acura. Barebones and stripped on the interior, leaving only behind a pair of bucket seats this Integra doesn’t exactly come with all the creature comforts that Acura touts from the factory. Instead, an added exhaust and air filter from Spoon Sports tag along with a CSF intercooler under the hood for the spooly snail add to the drift persona.

Yoshihara’s drifting resume stems from his Japanese roots, and his home base in Southern California- home of the mythical San Gabriel Mountain togue routes. His portfolio includes a Formula Drift championship, Pikes Peak wins, and 25 Hours at Thunderhill. Pretty evident from his exterior modifications to turn the Integra into not just a canyon carver but a canyon slider. An EVS Tuning body kit sitting on top of RSR Sport coilovers and BBS wheels only add to its mystique.

The final project comes in the form of a traditional tuner creation. The best of both worlds. To look good on the show floor and to look good underneath the hood. Chilean BMX-biker Coco Zarita’s creation features a host of carbon fiber additions along the vehicle. Underneath the bonnet is a refreshed cold air intake in tandem with a host of other engine modifications. A Gotham Gray wrap over a MOMO racing seat and steering wheel let this Integra look the part.

The cars go on display at SEMA on November 14th, 2022, at Acura’s US Headquarters in Torrence, CA. After that, the trio will stay in California for RadWood LA and the Long Beach Grand Prix. We’ll be scouring Fitment Industries’ galleries for more Integra builds as they pop up around the country. Will it square up to the ‘Teggy of the past?
