Can’t afford a Pagani? Well you’re out of luck if you wanted a manual transmission paired with a purebred AMG engine… or are you? That’s right folks, the only other vehicle to fall into that category is staring at us on this page. This 2020 Aston Martin Vantage comes with a 7-speed DIY transmission linked to a 4.0 liter turbocharged V8 developed by the company that’s joined at the hip to high performance and iconic Mercedes vehicles over the years.
We found this one on Cars & Bids, and it’s even the AMR Hero Edition. The AMR is the One you want if you want a true British sports car. As standard, you get carbon composite brakes, weight savings all across the body, combine that with aero pieces scattered throughout the body and you end up getting the most desirable sports car under $200,000 from the British Isles. To make the offer even more enticing, Aston Martin only made 200 AMR Heroes to begin with making it even rarer than a Ford GT. Who needs one anyway when you can have one of these.
Like we mentioned before, the Vantage gets its juice from its twin-turbo V8 that was harvested from the AMG farm in Germany to the south. The power factory puts down an earth-shattering 503 horsepower and 461 lb-ft of torque. Like I said, who needs the Ford GT? This is coming from a car that weighs less than 4,000 lbs.

This ultimate British sports vessel is probably one of the biggest performance bargains you can get at this price range. Staying under $200,000 for a exotic sports car is all you can ask, and it’s really only fulfilled by the Acura NSX and certain models of the Porsche 911. At the time of writing, the unmodified Aston sat at $109,000. For a car that’s associated with possibly the greatest spy franchise of all time, that’s pretty much a steal. Located in Connecticut, it only has 8,300 miles so its still under that 3 year Aston Martin warranty (you’ll probably need it). Famously, Doug Demuro chronicled his Aston Martin’s warranty journey, albeit it was an older V8 Vantage, but still my point stands.
For a car that was printed on posters all across the world and perched itself atop children’s beds, this is certainly one that you’d want to pick up. James Bond and Top Gear all revered the Vantage, I think it’s time you should too.
