With the reveal of the new C63, we only thought it was fitting to try to find our favorite C63 ever to land on our shores and feature it on this week’s auction find. This C63 out of Los Angeles lit up our faces when we first saw it pop up on our screen. Then we looked at the odometer, and it made our grin so big it physically hurt… we’re not kidding, we had to send our intern to the ER. The GoFundMe is pending.
Laying on BringATrailer, this C63 isn’t just any ol’ Mercedes-Benz to come out of East London, it’s got 22,000 miles. That’s basically untouched in the C63 world. Featuring a 6.2 L V8, this generation C63 grappled with 507 horsepower, hence the “507 Edition” moniker. The 507 Edition also added upgraded engine components which allowed the C63 to put out more power than the primitive 469 hp C63.
With the engines continuously getting smaller, and Mercedes-Benz seemingly abandoning the V8 like a lost puppy, this might be one of the last remaining unmolested C63’s out there. It’s hard to imagine a performance brand like AMG leaving the big engine market, but the tuner has said Sayanora to the rumble of the large powertrain in lieu of greener pastures, or so that’s what they say. The new C63 S has a hybrid powerplant, so the end has come and went.
This C63 has a whole suite of valuable features and finished in an interesting but cool Steel Grey on Porcelain and Black interior. We think it looks like an Oreo… but the beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and we also think Oreos are beautiful.
More on the 507 Edition package, added onto the extra horsepower and new engine components, you also got a vented aluminum hood, forged AMG 19″ wheels, upgraded brakes, and a gloss-black rear spoiler and mirror caps.
This seems like a well taken care of German muscle car from our favorite era of the C63. With the new one coming in and sails away to the V8 of old, now might be your chance to start stocking up on cars with publicly lewd engines. At the time of writing there was still 6 days left on the ticker with $35,000 as the highest bid.
